Great Places in Santa Rosa Beach to Eat

After a day of fun and sun building sandcastles on Santa Rosa Beach, there can be nothing more relaxing than sitting back in the shade of an umbrella shaded table and sipping margaritas. Fortunately for visitors, there are an extensive number of delicious eateries in and around the town catering to all kinds of tastes.

Obviously, if you’re going to sample Pensacola cuisine, you should consider trying one of the many seafood establishments. Right off of US Highway 98 is Bayou Bill’s Crab House. with ample seating in the gently lit, wooden-walled dining area or at the long bar, there’s a wide selection of fish, shrimp, oysters, po-boys, and burgers for non-fish fans. On West County Highway 30A is the slightly more offbeat Elmo’s Grill, a funky and fun locale that prides itself on being “not fancy, just famous.” Sometimes they’ll have live music, and at all times they’ll have seafood platters of all varieties (even a gator nugget entree), all-you-can-eat shrimp, steak, or the feast, and steamers served with corn and red new potatoes.

Maybe the kids aren’t into fish- that’s okay. There’s always Pizza by the Sea. Further downtown than the previous locations, this pizza shop is at Gulf Place Town Center, 95 Laura Hamilton Boulevard. You can order some local favorite pies like Kickin’ Chicken or Cha Cha Chipolte or you can build your own pizza pie in either medium or large sizes. Sandwiches, salads, bowls, and pastas are all dining options as well.

Of course, not everyone favors the informal. Right down on the beach you can find a more chic dining experience with Vue on 30a. Here you may order pan seared scallops, crab stuffed lobster, or chicken niçoise among other high-end culinary treats. The restaurant has a waterfront view and can be reserved for weddings and special events.
